FluidLogic™ Driver Robert Wickens Experiences ‘Fairy-Tale’ Week with Two IMSA Victories and the Birth of His Son

FluidLogic™ of RainMaker™ Inc., is pleased to announce driver Robert Wickens and team partner Mark Wilkins won the Tioga Downs Casino 120, round five of the 2022 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge on June 26 and returned to their native Canada to win the Touring Car class of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on July 2, 2022. Robert said, “It’s been a fairytale, really. The win at Watkins felt very deserved. We’ve worked hard. We’ve been there every race this year. It finally clicked when we got that win. We thought, ‘Let’s take this momentum into our home race.’”

The team ran the FluidLogic hydration system from RainMaker, the most advanced personal automated drink system available. FluidLogic delivers precise bursts of fluid through a nozzle integrated into the driver’s helmet microphone. Drivers are reminded by a steering wheel light to hit the steering wheel button.

This was Robert’s fifth and sixth race using hand controls, and his first victory since returning to competition after the IndyCar accident in 2018 that claimed his ability to use his legs. Robert’s talent, focus and determination have undoubtedly returned him to winner’s circle. “Anytime I compete, I compete with the intent to win. Mark and I and the team have been working diligently to get the most out of the car and to execute clean races every weekend. To get this win is very satisfying." said Robert.

Between the wins, Robert drove through the night to return home for the birth of his first son. “It’s been a blur,” he said. “It’s been a world of emotions. I think I got all my tears out on Friday when our son Wesley was born and he was healthy. I just can’t wait to get back home and see the baby again.”
